The Photograph Speaks
  Catina Noble

Family pictures strewn across
the kitchen table by auntie
my eyes gently climb over
them a few at a time
until they rest on a single
photo hiding behind a larger
one

curiosity taps my hand
I reach, pluck it from the pile
to get a closer look a secret
who is the man dressed
who is he, that stands in
front of the tepee, is he related

to me
