Sap of the Signified
  Ryan Racine

The books are open on the table
like plates.

Inside the tissues come apart.
The emerging psocid swallows
the cacophonous black blood.
The interwoven polysaccharide
incubates until it becomes
insulation for the decomposing
charcoal lodged on the inner chamber.
It forms
warm tar
that bloats the abdomen.
The circulated metabolites decomposes from the
tubules until it becomes dribbling sap
ready for excretion.
