Only in the Movies
  Christine Wessel Thompson

It may just happen this time.
This time, the door may swing open
To a cowboy dressed in white
On a black horse.
He may speak poetry,
Fight like a machine,
And ride like lightning.

This time, the car may pull up
With a millionaire inside
In a black, double-breasted suit.
He may sing lullabies,
Play cards like an ace,
And deal a mean hand.

It may just happen this time.
This time, a cowboy clad millionaire
May gamble with my heart,
Fight for my love,
Make my soul melt with tender words,
Make me his woman,
And, with me in his arms,
Ride off into the sunset.
